my father was just getting ready to leave Paris by truck and drive to Cognac to see what he could do to set up for Royal Bank business under Vichy rule. I can’t help wondering what he was then, a nervy optimist or a simple fool! He certainly was persistent in his loyalty to bank business, as he saw it!

This is also the day that Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found murdered in LA, GHW Bush was born, Medgar Evers was murdered in Mississipi and Philippine independence was declared in 1898! and then in ‘46 or whatever. The imperial US, pre GWB, was busy then too.
