Happiness or Subjective Well-being?

Posted by BobG in Vancouver on 2008/05/23

Yesterday, for some reason unknown to me and not evident in wordpress.com blog stats, views of my blog topped out at 90 some and that is almost twice the average viewing rate for the last few years. 36 views of my previous post about the happiest countries in the world led the way.

Here is a more complete article about the measuring of subjective well-being which sort of sounds like happiness but spelt out in clinical terms. According to this study Canada rates in the top 4 countries while the US comes in the top 6. Go figure!

Not surprisingly, Burundi, Congo Republic and Zimbabwe bring up the rear with Burundi rating last with the base subjective well-being index of 100. All these numbers were derived in 2006.

The link above is a slight improvement over the link my earlier post.
