“Liquidity shock” is a basic principle of market investing

The NY Times is just the greatest provider of basic information, but it’s up to each one of us to remember the good stuff and forget about the rest. This morning’s business section offers two pieces of basic information about investing. First is advice from Ben Stein, the TV curmudgeon who has something pithy to say about evolution, creationism and investing.

Then there is this primer about more advanced market factors you should be aware of, like “liquidity shock” which is the main cause of our sad markets. Check out this article and learn that the wretched market of 2008 has been played out more than once before. Will we ever learn?
