I guess RACISM will taint Canadian affairs in an echo of affairs in the US
Another headline from cbc.ca:
Two B.C. members of the RCMP with First Nations backgrounds have filed lawsuits against their superior officers and high-ranking members of the provincial and federal governments alleging discrimination and harassment.
It seems crazy to me, but symptomatic of relations between officialdom in Canada and aboriginals. On the one side condescension and alleged ill-treatment and on the other a continuation of victimhood. Surely these long term RCMP officers have had such incidents in the many years of service before their service in Afghanistan. Why didn’t they sue then? Why now?
This continued and almost knee jerk position of being victims of racism may be true, but just seems to me to be continuation of their second class reserve status in Canada. It doesn’t seem to matter what the issue is. If aboriginals are involved then there has to be racism! When and how does this public charade begin to end?
