What the Universe looks like as composed by the Planck Satellite

I like to post unique and not_seen_before images here. And this is one of those I believe. I snipped it from  bbc.co.uk’s science section:

You will notice the major astronomic features we homo sapiens know about marked up on the image. I kinda think that this is a WOW image. Can you believe a picture of the Universe? The Planck Sat is a product of Euro science as distinct from NASA.

The image of scientists celebrating the LHC restart got my attention

BBC.co.uk offered a photo gallery today marking the re-start of the LHC big bang machine. I skitched this pic because it evoked the celebration mood of big science with the re-starting of this biggest of big science venues in the world.

Sean Carroll is my favorite source about cosmology

Sean Carroll writes some of the most compelling essays that seem to me to be about the philosophy of cosmology. His writing is lucid, interesting and gives me the faint impression that I actually understand what he is writing about!

And he seems to have all kinds of interesting acquaintances!
