and the really important proton collisions haven’t happened yet in CERN’s current LHC. But the next collider is going to be linear! Link

Circular or linear or wiggly, or??????

I am intrigued by Big and Small science, especially when an apt writer like Olivia Judson writes those sidebar stories about the biology of our biosphere!

The image of scientists celebrating the LHC restart got my attention

leave a comment » offered a photo gallery today marking the re-start of the LHC big bang machine. I skitched this pic because it evoked the celebration mood of big science with the re-starting of this biggest of big science venues in the world.

I wonder how all those ex-McCain admirers in the MSM feel about him after reading this wry piece of commentary from a Brit observing all the stuff (read negative ads about Obama) being put out by the McCain campaign these days, especially since Mrs. Palin got on the ticket!
