From white cleavage to Israel and Gaza

Irreversable Mangled Views

I relate easily to the first subject. But the second leaves me bereft of sense. So I welcome this morning some sensible talk from this serious source. Here’s a hard hitting excerpt from the executive summary of that report:

To paraphrase a comment about the British government’s management of the British Army in World War I, lions seem to be led by donkeys. If Israel has a credible ceasefire plan that could really secure Gaza, it is not apparent. If Israel has a plan that could credibly destroy and replace Hamas, it is not apparent. If Israel has any plan to help the Gazans and move them back towards peace, it is not apparent. If Israel has any plan to use US or other friendly influence productively, it not apparent.

As we have seen all too clearly from US mistakes, any leader can take a tough stand and claim that tactical gains are a meaningful victory. If this is all that Olmert, Livni, and Barak have for an answer, then they have disgraced themselves and damaged their country and their friends. If there is more, it is time to make such goals public and demonstrate how they can be achieved. The question is not whether the IDF learned the tactical lessons of the fighting in 2006. It is whether Israel’s top political leadership has even minimal competence to lead them

I find all this racist stuff about Prince Harry irritating and whiney junk!

What the H is going on with all the victim talk coming like knee jerk PCism when Prince H uses the Paki and raghead word? Get a life, get a job or get serious?

In the realm of victim crime this is petty stuff! What about what the Hamas and Hezbollah leadership is doing victimizing the children of their victim members in Gaza? Now that’s dirty and serious stuff.

But all the PC press can see or yak about it is the disproportionate number of casualties between Israelis and Gazans and blame endlessly Israel and their military. Did any of you weeping teeth gnashing yahoos ever consider that dead Gazan children could be part of deliberate tactics of Hamas in the broader struggle for the appearance of victory in spite of “cruel and heartless killing wrought by Israeli military?

Really thing about it. It’s really a battle and war of appearances turning up on MSM video, text and TV punditry being run over the very long term for the day by day consumption of Western PCites!

Iran Parliament to Debate Death Penalty for Bloggers

Wow! For me blogging seems so routine and a healthy writing gig. But wherever fanatics rule they seemingly can’t tolerate openess and transparency.

Juan Cole & his Napoleon connection

Juan Cole has been and is recognized for the quality of his blogging about Iraq and the Middle East. Today I discovered that unsurprisingly he has a Napoleon connection. This is not surprising to me because Napoleon led an exceptional expedition to Egypt in the late 1790s.

A post of mine about a year ago still gets most daily views of any of my posts. So for all those Napoleon viewers here is another Internet connection which is clearly high quality for its content and suggested links to other Napoleon sites.
